LRE: Lifestyle Relational Evangelism
Jesus came and told his disciples, "I have been given complete authority in heaven and on earth. Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all thecommands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Matthew 18- 20
Lifestyle Relational Evangelism was our FIRST and ONLY ministry focus when this ministry was born. To this day, fourteen years later, it remains one of the most widely requested ministries from churches across the nation. However, LRE is extensively MORE than reaching out to families in their homes, as it was in the very early years. A working definition of this ministry today would be: Loving, Relating and Encouraging.
The Staff of our ministry was teaching, practicing and modeling true, relational, non-confrontational evangelism LONG BEFORE this came into vogue. We train your Staff, Leadership and members in the initiation and caring pursuit of new, quality, lasting relationships with persons in a myriad of life settings.
A FEW of these include, but are not limited to: reaching out to those we don’t know at all in our community in locations such as:
- Coffee shops and bookstore cafes
- Sports practice sessions for children’s and youth sports
- Getting to know those who serve tables in local restaurants
- Visiting with persons in their homes in our community (it STILL works…)
- Engaging in models of “serving evangelism” – handing out water, etc…
- Hosting community events that local families will attend out of interest
Thousands of families who were previously unchurched and inactive in faith relationships, have been reached across America since 1987 using the principles of Lifestyle Relational Evangelism, developed through the crucible of experience in serving local congregations that we experiencing little or no growth.
A FEW of the target ministry groups LRE reaches out to, related to the life of a local church are:
- Worship Visitors (NOT exclusively first time visitors…)
- Inactive Members and families
- Exiting families – who have left or are leaving for a variety of reasons
- The Worship Only Population
- Community families not related to any organized church
- Ministry Referral families – Scout families; School families; Daycare Families; and many others who receive services from ministries
- Families who need outreach with reconciliation
