Faith In Action:

"O our God, we thank you and praise your glorious name!

But who am I, and who are my people, that we could give anything to you? Everything we have has come from you,

and we give you only what you have already given us!

We are here for only a moment, visitors and strangers in the land as our ancestors were before us.

Our days on earth are like a shadow, gone so soon without a trace.

"O LORD our God, even these materials that we have gathered to build a Temple to honor your holy name come from you!

It all belongs to you!

I know, my God, that you examine our hearts and rejoice when you find integrity there.

You know I have done all this with good motives, and I have watched your people offer their gifts willingly and joyously.

1 Chronicles 13-18

Many church Finance Committees have been pressured into living out the unwanted role of “the money police” and feel compelled to protect the funds which are present.  Others are extremely frustrated in seeking to try to seriously increase the JOY OF GIVING across the congregation, even in the midst of numerical growth.  Others simply cave in, call a for-profit fundraising company, and ask them to come in and solve the giving needs.

We have Staff that are certified fund-raising professionals, but who do NOT do this for the purpose of profit.   We had the same excellent training that those who do financial campaigns exclusively but feel our calling is to help churches “learn how to fish” in this area of ministry, rather than “coming in with slick, corporate looking, four color materials and doing it for them.”  The latter approach will sometimes raise the DOLLARS but not produce the training needed for years to come IF the local leaders are to lead future campaigns with effectiveness.

Faith In Action is PEM’s approach to work closely with the local church Finance and Stewardship Committees for a MINIMUM of twelve months, intensively.  We provide them with comprehensive training and coaching in listening to the needs, concerns, hopes and dreams of the entire congregation, gathering that information in effective ways, processing the enormous amount of input and then taking all that to prayerfully how to transform it into a personalized financial campaign of excellence in that local church.  This approach does several things:

  • It significantly increases the number of givers in the church, due to a much higher sense of “ownership” in forming the plans

  • It raises the JOY of Giving out of a thankful, cheerful heart, rather than out of guilt, reprisal, obligation or pressure

  •  It teaches the leadership of the church HOW to effectively design a full campaign in their own congregation with logos, themes based on the Bible and sound theology, and instills in them both competency and confidence.

Many hours and days during this twelve month period are spent on site in the church, working with the Pastor, the Staff, the Finance Committee, the Stewardship Committee and others related to the giving of the church.
