Barnabas Ministry Groups Please note this exciting news from Proactive Ministries regarding the Barnabas Ministry Group Model! We are leading this effective model to meet the urgent need for teaching and training in churches of various sizes and settings. This model involves a group of from four to six churches. The churches may be nominated by the District Superintendent. There will be at least one “Anchor Congregation” in each Barnabas Ministry Group, who will be in ministry with other “Linked Congregations” as Proactive Ministries provides major training, teaching and ministry coaching for all the churches in a two year Covenant. Churches share in training weekends.
This model has several advantages: Eleven major areas of ministry training will be covered in the two years. To review the areas of ministry, click here. The churches will be in covenant with Proactive, the District and with each other. The churches will financially participate, proportionately in the connectional ministry model. (Each church’s financial participation is based on their average worship attendance, current year budget, and current realities – finances are fully discussed during the day and evening of Envisioning, provided free for you).
The first Barnabas Ministry Group has shown great success in the Atlanta-College Park District of the North Georgia Conference and we are establishing several new groups at this time. The average training weekend attendance in the first group has exceeded all initial expectations. We invite you to join us in participation in this exciting ministry – many individual lives will be enriched and local churches and communities will be transformed for present and future generations.
