About Wayne Tucker:
Wayne Tucker sensed God’s hand was on his life since childhood but fully committed his life to Christ during a Via de Cristo Weekend in November 1990. His life has not been the same since that appointment with God. Wayne came into contact with Proactive Evangelism Ministries through his wife, who spent time with Pastor Jim Hollis in Personal Christian Coaching, and as Chair of the church who invited Pastor Hollis to do an Envisioning with the leadership. While listening, Wayne recognized the great impact and potential this ministry could have for the local church. He saw that PEM comes alongside churches by training and encouraging leadership and staff, provides resources and tools to strengthen, and creates new ministry opportunities, providing an objective point of view of the church and its potential impact for the Kingdom of God. Wayne is completing his 38th year of teaching. He has taught both in the private sector and presently in the public school system. In 1989/90, he was recognized as Pinellas County (FL) Teacher of the Year, West Central Florida Regional Teacher of the Year, and one of 5 finalists for Florida’s Teacher of the Year. He leads a prayer group after school and serves as the unofficial “chaplain” of his school. Wayne’s ministry experience includes: Prayer, Men’s Ministry, Marriage Ministry, Youth Ministry, Sunday School teacher, Adult Ministry, Children’s Center Board of Directors, Certified Lay Speaker in the United Methodist Church, and Lay Leader of his church. He led as Chair of three different churches in three different denominations. He has taught Sunday School, led small groups, preached, led and served on Via de Cristo teams, represented his church at Annual Conference, led various men’s and marriage retreats, and led workshops on leadership. He is currently a member of The Bridge Church, where he is assisting in leadership development. The Holy Spirit has gifted Wayne in the areas of administration, teaching, prayer, and leadership. He felt called to lay ministry in August 2000; this call was confirmed again in August 2003 and by Pastor Hollis on June 17, 2006. He feels his life’s mission is to mobilize lay people to realize their potential and to challenge them to actively use their gifts to impact the world for Christ. Wayne and his wife, Vicki, reside in St. Petersburg, FL. They have 3 adult children and 2 grandchildren. Wayne’s hobbies include reading, walking and “spoiling” his 2 grandsons. His favorite Scripture and over-riding life theme is Hebrews 12:1 – 3. His heart’s desire is to “finish strong” in his walk with Jesus on this earth. |
