About Suzanne Zipperer: Suzanne came into a relationship with Jesus Christ as a result of her parents taking her to Sunday School & Church every Sunday from her birth. She was introduced to His love through many Sunday School teachers and pastors. She does not remember ever having the feeling that Jesus was not with her. She officially joined the church at the age of 12 after completing confirmation classes. She has been an active part of a congregation throughout her Christian journey. She began singing at an early age. That talent was inspired by her father who sang her to sleep every night. Piano lessons began in the sixth grade after her elementary teacher and a friend had taught her how to read the treble and bass clef. She has continued to play the piano and organ in all the churches she has attended. As you can tell, music is an important part of her life. She married Doug on November 27, 1970. Since she was gainfully employed at Prudential Insurance Company and owned a car, he was free to pursue his education and earn his Master of Divinity at Candler School of Theology. After seminary, they served several appointments in the Florida Annual Conference: Seminole, Hastings, West Palm Beach, Juno Beach, Lakeland, and Brooksville. They just moved to their new appointment in Port Charlotte on June 27, 2006. She believes that they are a team so her jobs have been sometimes related to the needs of the churches they have served. She has worked in various positions: secretary, preschool teacher, teacher’s assistant, administrative assistant, Christian education director, pianist, and organist. Proactive Evangelism Ministries contracted with First United Methodist Church in Brooksville, Florida, with a two year contract. During that time she was introduced to the transforming effect of this ministry. It enables people to refocus and evaluate where they are going and most importantly Who’s going with them. She is excited to see how the Lord will work as she begins this new endeavor. Doug and Suzanne have three grown children, Angela married to Todd, Jason married to Cindy, Andy, and our adopted children Jason and Sonsee Sanders. They all live in Brooksville, Florida. Most important to her, they have five beautiful grandchildren, Savannah, Corwin, Emmah, Madison and Jay. She finds every excuse to visit them. If she is not with the grandchildren, you can find her volunteering at the church, fishing or trying to keep up with Doug. | ||||
