About Polly McClure
At the age of nine, God called Polly into a relationship with Him at a revival at her home church in Bowling Green, Kentucky. God used many individuals there while growing up to launch and encourage her into the life of service He had planned. Through programs such as Girl’s Auxiliary, Junior Bible Drill, Sunday School and Youth, Polly developed a strong love of God and His word. “Open the eyes of my heart, Lord” became the words that God used to speak to Polly’s heart and call her into a life of prayer and devotion. Over the last several years, Polly has seen God transform her life through a sacred romance with Him and His word. The writings of Dutch Sheets, John Eldredge, Brent Curtis, Henri Nouwen, E.M. Bounds and many others have inspired her to bear witness to how daily conversations and time with Him can change lives. After participating in several Proactive Ministry trainings during the covenant with her home church, Faith United Methodist, Polly was spiritually recruited to join the Proactive Ministry Staff. Being on Staff allows Polly to answer God’s call to go and share His love with those that are trapped in conflict in their local church. Through sharing her testimony of slowing down to build relationships instead of the trap of busyness, Polly is working with Proactive to bring hope and encouragement to those that have lost sight of sharing God’s love with others. She and her husband, Norman are charter members of Faith United Methodist Church in Clay, Alabama. She has worked with Youth, taught many Bible studies and served in various capacities of leadership there. She and Norman have been married since 1975 and have two beautiful daughters. After a career of over twenty years in pharmaceutical sales, she is also involved in a ministry assignment as coalition director of a statewide non-profit, Reach Out and Read-Alabama, which assists pediatric healthcare providers in distributing books and literacy advice at each well-child visit. Do not conform any longer to the patterns of the world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is-his good, pleasing and perfect will. Romans 12:2 |
