About Lamarr Stevens:

Lamarr came to know Christ in a 3rd Grade Sunday School class where she was invited as a visitor (never underestimate your importance as an Elementary SS teacher!). God always had a strong hand on her life, and as a youth, she re-committed to a commitment to follow Christ. Following and falling and getting up to follow again, she met Rev. Jim Hollis and Proactive Evangelism Ministries after her first husband left their marriage to pursue another relationship.

Lamarr's experience with PEM in 1994 was unique as a part of an outreach ministry to small churches called the Ministry of Eagles. She trained closely with Jim full-time for one month primarily in LRE as well as Small Groups and the various functions of the church. She then committed to 11 months work in a small church, living in host homes and serving the church full-time.

As a Georgia Tech graduate, she worked in various positions in the corporate world before being blessed with four children and a wonderful husband who has enabled her to stay at home to raise the children.

Serving in the Ministry of Eagles gave Lamarr exposure to many areas of church ministry including teaching, singing, hospital visitation, church bulletins and newsletters, as well as speaking from the pulpit. In other church experience she has worked with Youth, taught VBS, led children's choirs, Bible studies, and prayer groups, sung with choirs and performed solos, taught children's sermons, managed the creation of a church directory, served as Sunday School Superintendent and served on a building committee for a $1.4 million dollar Christian Learning Center in a historical district. She also serves in various positions in the PTA of her children's school.

God, family and music are her passion, as well as baking and providing for loved ones, especially her stepson who is currently serving in Iraq (3/08-10/08).
