About Joye Percival:

Joye began a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as a 15 year old teenager at the altar of her hometown church in Waynesboro Georgia. There began a journey with many detours in and out of church through college and as a young adult. But at the age of 33 during a difficult personal heartbreak, Joye began to experience the power and love of the Holy Spirit at work in her life, and to understand and respond to His sovereign call on her life.

Joye became involved with Proactive Evangelism Ministries through their work at her own church. Having answered God’s call many years before to teach His word, PEM offered Joye the prospect of combining that call with the opportunity to train leaders within the Body of Christ. Joye believes God has called her to this ministry to help raise up, and encourage leaders through the practical application of God’s word, preparing them to experience the transforming power of the Holy Spirit through the joy of ministry.

Joye graduated from Young Harris Junior College in 1968 and from Georgia Baptist Nursing School in 1971. As a Registered Nurse she worked for a number of years in both neurosurgical and orthopedic nursing areas. In 1991 Joye had the privilege of helping to raise up a new private Christian school, Providence Christian Academy in Gwinnett County, where she served as Co-president of the Parent Teacher Fellowship and on the School’s Administrative Board. Joye also served as President of the Parent’s Association at Brandon Hall School in Atlanta Georgia and on Administrative Board of Brandon Hall School.

Joye has attended Chamblee First United Methodist since 1989. She has served there as Prayer Ministry Coordinator, Church Council Chair, Sunday School teacher, and Bible Study leader. Joye has also worked in the past as an administrative volunteer with Prison Fellowship Ministries in Atlanta Georgia, where she helped to coordinate their yearly “Angel Tree Ministry.”  For about 12 years Joye attended “Bible Study Fellowship” classes in the Atlanta area and served in the leadership of that ministry for 6 of those years. Joye has worked with Proactive Evangelism Ministries since June of 2003, and has served as their Board Chair and currently serves as a Senior Lay Instructor.

Joye lives in Sandy Springs Ga. and is the proud mom of Mark, who  graduated with honors from Georgia State University in December of 2006 with a degree in Accounting.
