About Jewels (Julie) Kind:
Jewels Kind is and always has been a true mid-westerner. She grew up in Beloit, Wisconsin, married and had three of her four children there. She moved to Apple Valley, Minnesota where she lived until 1999 at which point she moved to Libertyville, IL and remains there today. Jewels grew up in a Christian home with strong Christian mentors who led her into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ at an early age. Like all of us, poor choices led her down some of the wrong paths, but God who is faithful, protected her and kept her close. Teaching became a part of Jewels life when she taught Sunday school as a High School student. She also taught gymnastics at the YMCA & YWCA during that same timeframe. The University of Wisconsin – Whitewater became the place where teaching became streamlined as Jewels joined the college of education, with a broad field major in P.E. a minor in health and specialization in Special Education. The birth of her twin daughters put higher education on hold, though she continued coaching of girls’ high school basketball & volleyball teams. As her girls grew, Jewels worked as High School Youth Director at Trinity Lutheran Church and was involved in the music ministry. While still in Beloit, Jewels was an active board member with Christian Woman’s Club of Rock County in the area of music and prayer ministry. Later years found Jewels on the board of directors for the Lutheran Church of Our Savior in Rosemount, MN. There she was Youth director for the high school youth group, music director for the young children, and worship leader for the contemporary service which she was an integral part in establishing. Her professional life has been a patchwork of opportunities. She has coached high school teams, Jr. Olympic volleyball teams, boys Jr. High Volleyball and local community soccer teams. She has been a secretary at ISD #196 in MN, a top selling sales associate, a store sales manager, a Regional Sales Trainer, an entrepreneur, and currently holds a position with Coldwell Banker Real Estate as an office administrator. She was involved in 4H, the Rosemount Area Athletic Association and Lion’s Club International. She held the position of President of her local Lions club and Zone Chairman the following year in that district. When she left MN, she was the district membership chairman for Lion’s International. Jewels got involved with Proactive Evangelism Ministry when Rev. Hollis came to the church she was attending at that time to do a Discovery and Reflection weekend. 2006 was her first year as part of the P. E. M. team. Jewels currently attends Christ Church in Lake Forest, IL. and lives in Libertyville, IL with her husband Eric Easterhouse and son Jakob Gelbach. Jewels favorite free time activity is hanging out with her three grandchildren, which live about 20 minutes away with Jewels’ daughter and son-in-law. Along with all this, Jewels is also taking classes through Trinity Bible College to earn a degree in Biblical Counseling. Her favorite verse is Psalm 119:105 Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path. |
