About Rev. Jim Burt:
Jim Burt was raised in a loving home, but not one in which he clearly heard the Gospel Message or Bible teaching. Jim attended Church weekly, but it was only “religion”. At his Church he never heard about having a real and personal relationship with God through accepting the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. Thankfully, Jim was invited to a Church that taught the Bible and salvation by faith through the grace of God. He soon felt the Holy Spirit tugging at his heart and telling him that he needed the forgiveness of God and the life that Jesus came to give. On a Sunday night, as a young teenager, Jim put His faith and trust in Jesus as His Lord and Savior. Jim had the opportunity to become a part of a very spiritual youth group where he grew greatly in the Lord and had many opportunities to serve the Lord. It soon became obvious to Jim and others that the hand of God was on him for service. Jim pursued the calling of God upon his life by attending Baptist Bible College of Pennsylvania and Grace Theological Seminary in Winona Lake, Indiana. Jim has served as an Assistant Pastor in Iowa for five years, a Senior Pastor in Illinois for five years, a senior Pastor in Indiana for 11 years and a Senior Pastor in Ohio for four years. He loves to teach and preach the Bible and it’s principles for living. Jim came into contact with Proactive Evangelism Ministries through a Divine Appointment that God arranged with Rev. Jim Hollis at a Walk to Emmaus. It was actually Jim’s wife Lois Burt, who met Rev. Hollis first. Lois was a pilgrim and Jim Hollis was the Head Spiritual Director at the retreat. They began talking and Lois told Jim about her husband who had served for over twenty five years in ministry as a Pastor. Lois explained that she and Jim were praying about the ministry that God wanted them to serve in. Of course, Rev. Jim knew just the ministry that they should look into. After a meeting between Jim Hollis and Jim Burt it became apparent that God was in all of this and the relationship has been strong ever since. Jim and his wife, Lois, reside in Holly Springs, GA. They have 4 adult children. Robert and Julie both live in the Dayton, Ohio area. Beth lives in the Washington DC area and Jeremy lives at home with Jim and Lois. Jim and Lois will have their first grandchild this summer! Jim’s hobbies include walking/running, almost any kind of sports and fishing. His favorite Scripture s are Deuteronomy 31:6 and Philippians 4:13. Jim’s life motto is “the best is yet to come.” His three favorite words are love, acceptance and forgiveness. |
