About Rev. Gary Whatley:
Gary is an ordained Elder in Full Connection clergy of the North Georgia Conference of the United Methodist church. Gary has served churches of various sizes across North Georgia for 20 years. Gary is an inspirational preacher, teacher and has lead numerous retreats, church worship services, contemporary worship services and has gifts in creative faith-sharing with others. He enjoys performing illusions: methods for creative faith-sharing using slight of hand and combining this with incredible truths of the Christian Faith. He has a deep passion for wanting to see others come to discover the gift and joy of evangelism and has made this “real” in various church settings. He is a graduate of Auburn University with a B.S. in Secondary Education and a minor in German language. He also holds a Masters of Divinity degree from Candler School of Theology. Gary has been very involved in Toastmater’s International, both as a participant and a key leader in several chapters over the last several years. He has earned the “Able Toastmaster Bronze” award. Gary is a gifted communicator. All that he has experienced, including his wife dying of breast cancer May 3, 2004, he believes, has made him and his family stronger to face difficult challenges. His calling and passion is to share the story of a strong faith that conquers times of deep despair, and crisis. Gary loves water skiing, cave exploration, soul exploration, cabins in the woods, hiking, but more than anything he loves people and loves to communicate Christ’s message of love and hope. |
